How did you decide to go into the education field?
I have always had a natural affinity with children and children have always had an easy bond with me.
How has school funding made a difference in your classroom?
School funding has made a difference in my classroom by providing the resources for every student to have 1:1 technology. My district also has provided the means for students to have hot spots for their homes when internet is not accessible.
What resources and supports can further benefit your classroom/school/community?
Supports that could further benefit my classroom/school/community would be full time social workers and nurses in every building. Additionally, community resources such as child care, psychological, physician, ophthalmologist and dental services provided in the school or neighborhoods.
Who/What inspires you? Why?
My Father inspires me because he stood and advocated for justice all his life and instilled those same values in me.
What accomplishment fills you with pride so far this year?
An accomplishment that fills me with pride this year is being recognized as a Golden Apple Teacher for the knowledge and support that I have and provide for all students and adults.
If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?
I share the three goals for life. If you can manage and navigate through those three goals with ease you will be successful in life.
What is your favorite movie/book?
My favorite movie is “Remember the Titans.”
